Standard processing (included in price)

Your documents are scanned per folder (spine 75 mm) or per box.
We use the name of the scanned folder or box as the designation for your digital file.
The name can consist of up to 40 characters.
Via the automatic text recognition you can find keywords in your digital file.

Detailed processing

You should then separate each file with a post-it, a dividersheet or a tab.

Handling your archive (removing paper clips/staples, adding end sheets)
Scanning your archive:
- for "scanning documents", your images are scanned in 300 dpi, PDF/A, with text recognition and automatic rotation of reading orientation.
- for "scanning books", your images are scanned in 300 dpi, PDF/A, with text recognition.
- for "scanning plans", your images are scanned in 300 dpi and PDF/A.
Naming the digital files:
- for "scanning documents" and "scanning books", where we may cut them open, this is done according to the parameters you have chosen on the website.
- for "scanning books", where these may not be cut open, 1 book is scanned as 1 pdf and the file name consists of a maximum of 15 characters.
- for "scanning plans", 1 plan is scanned as 1 pdf and the file name consists of a maximum of 15 characters.
Returning your digital images.
Returning physical archives OR destroying them after scanning. Do you choose to keep the originals? Then you must order them separately via our website.
- In the "Return to you" option, your documents are placed loose in the box, in the same order as they were received.
- In the "Destruction by Merak" option, Merak will destroy all paper documents received 90 days after scanning and transferring the digital documents, see general terms and conditions.
- In the "Preservation by Merak " option, your documents will be placed loose in the box, in the same order as they were received.
